Handout on Named Entity Recignition in python

Below you can browse and download a short handout I wrote on Named Entity Recognition (NER) in python.

The examples discussed in the handout relate to my work on The Value of Names; focusing on the potential use of NER to locate events in text corpora. I draw on the fantastic introductionary course materials of Christopher Manning and spaCy 101 for illustration of concepts in python.
